Dr Disrespect Announces AAA Game Studio Midnight Society

Herschel “Guy” Beahm or better known as Dr. Disrespect has recently announced that he is building a new “AAA” game studio called Midnight Society, which will, according to Doc, produce large-scale AAA games, with a focus on first-person shooters.

For the success of his endeavor, Doc has hired various veteran developers from the gaming scene that have worked on large-scale AAA games such as Call Of Duty and Halo. Midnight Society lists four co-founders on its website including Dr. Disrespect, Robert Bowling, Quinn DelHoyo, and Sumit Gupta.

Something that many doesn’t know about Doc is that he has worked on creating multiplayer maps and has worked as a mapmaker and level designer on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare before going full-time on content creation and streaming.

Robert Bowling is a former creative strategist and community manager from Infinity Ward. He has worked on the Call Of Duty series has years of experience under his belt. Robert will lead as Midnight Society Studio Head.

Quinn DelHoyo also a veteran will be the creative director at the studio. Previously, Quinn served in 343 industries as lead sandbox designer on Halo games. While Sumit Gupta is the founder and CEO of Boom.TV, a popular online platform for playing games, tournaments, and watching esports.

As per the studio website, the first game under development will be a PvP title and will involve the community from “Day Zero” of the development. The landing page on the site reads:

“We flip the tables on the traditional video game development model and embrace the Day Zero Community. That means including our players – yes, you – from the earliest most inception. That could be testing reload times and recoil patterns in a firing range or jumping in for the first-ever PVP sessions.”

We don’t expect much news about the game development as the studio is still in its early days and still needs a staff to start working on ideas. Don’t expect any news until mid-2022 or even late 2022.
