Newly updated versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 have been released by Rockstar. The patch notes for version 1.64 state that the game has received new Story Missions, Freemode missions, a new business for players to operate, and several experience upgrades.
And it’s not just a general fix; this patch addresses two problems that only PC users have encountered. The newly implemented ray-traced reflections, however, are not available on the PC. Instead, you can only use Ray Tracing on a PS5 or an Xbox One S|X.
But in any case, the next time you start the Rockstar launcher or Steam clients, they will automatically download this update for you. You may also find its changelog further down this page.
GTA Online Los Santos Drugs Wars DLC download sizes
Due to differences in data formats used to run the game and in graphical constraints between devices, update sizes can vary widely. The following is a breakdown of the file sizes for the Los Santos Drug Wars DLC update for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S:
- PC // Xbox One // PS4 : 3 GB
- PlayStation 5 // : 5 GB
- Xbox Series X/S // : 12 GB
The increased dimensions are a result of the inclusion of high-quality visual upgrades designed to exploit the capabilities of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox X/S series of platforms.
Some background on the visual upgrades can be found in a bulletin published on December 6, 2022:
“PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will add ray-traced reflections, rendering real-time reflections on many surfaces: via the Fidelity Mode graphics setting.”
Since most of the new missions will take place in Blaine County, it’s in your best interest to get an off-road vehicle before venturing there. The new missions, as the name suggests, will have the player’s character taking over the city’s psychedelics trade.
Players who upgrade the game will also get access, for a limited time, to a brand new, completely free vehicle, the classic Declasse Tahoma Coupe. All of this is done in honor of the tremendous haul that the GTA Online community as a whole made during The Heists Challenge.
