Back in August, Kotaku confirmed the existence of the GTA Trilogy bundle being developed by Rockstar. Recently, the game’s achievement icons, as well as traces of Unreal Engine, were leaked by data miners who were looking through Rockstar Games Launcher’s files.
“In honor of the upcoming anniversary, today we are excited to announce that all three games will be coming to current generation platforms later this year in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the Rockstar Games Launcher on PC.” The company, confirming the leaks officially on Twitter. “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will feature across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three titles, while still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals.”
Although we’ve yet to see any gameplay or screenshots from the trilogy, we can expect more news in the coming days. The trilogy will also release on iOS and Android devices in early 2022.
Rockstar Games will be removing older versions of the game across all digital storefronts to prepare for the Definitive Edition’s launch later this year, which will coincide with Grand Theft Auto 3’s 20th anniversary.
