Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition Coming To Xbox Game Pass PC

During Minecraft Live 2021, Mojang announced a new PC-only “Minecraft PC Bundle” that will include both Minecraft Java and Bedrock Editon that will give access to both games at the same time through the Minecraft launcher.

As per the announcement, the Minecraft PC Bundle will first be available for Xbox Game Pass for PC subscribers (as well as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers) starting 2nd Nov 2021. The Minecraft PC Bundle will officially launch in full at some point in 2022 on Microsoft Store and 3rd party stores. Mojang hasn’t revealed any date for the release yet or whether Minecraft will be coming to Steam in 2022.

Mojang also announced that players who have previously purchased either Minecraft: Java Edition or Minecraft: Bedrock Edition for PC will gain access to the other edition of the game they don’t have for free once the bundle retails in 2022. Do note that Java Edition players will need to migrate their Mojang Account to a Microsoft Account on their Minecraft.net profile page to get access to Bedrock Edition once the PC bundle releases.

Both the games will remain independent titles and receive updates separately as they do currently. Just that the PC bundle release will add both games to the Minecraft Launcher and allow players to choose between the version they want to play without a headache of launching another game launcher or changing account. While both games have their pros and cons, the extended accessibility of the PC bundle will enable players to experience both games anew. Plus with the Xbox Game Pass PC players can play both games without any restraint.
