After the information of un-announced DLC in works for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla leaked on the internet, Ubisoft has officially announced that Valhalla is set to receive a new, free update named Tombs of the Fallen on 9th November (tomorrow).
As part of the game’s roadmap for 2021, Ubisoft revealed that four pieces of content are coming to the game before the end of the year. The first is Title Update 1.4.0, which releases the same day as Tombs of the Fallen on November 9. Later, a “Free Time-Limited Event” dubbed “The Oskoreia Festival” will run between November 11 and December 2. The final piece of content will be the Title Update 1.4.1, which will release later in December.
The DLC was first spotted by players through PlayStation Trophies, where two new trophies — Spelunker trophy and Crypt-ologist were available. This confirmed that Ubisoft has some unreleased content in the works which will be available soon.
Another leak also suggests that aside from Tombs of the Fallen, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s next major expansion could be titled ‘Dawn of Ragnarök’. As per datamined information, the expansion will be set in the dwarven realm of Svartalfheim and will introduce a range of new abilities and weapons for protagonist Eivor.
Previously, Ubisoft had noted that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla had built on a strong commercial start to become the “second-largest profit-generating game” in the company’s history. Ubisoft also promised that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will receive a second year of expansions update—a first for the series. The developer also confirmed that a new project codenamed Assassin’s Creed Infinity is in the works will be revealed in 2022.
