Valorant Team Forfeits Match Due to Player’s Addiction to Honkai Star Rail

A Valorant esports team, Ghost CommandoS, was compelled to forfeit a VCL match in a strange series of events that left the gaming community puzzled. As it turns out, one of their players became so engrossed in playing Honkai Star Rail, a massively successful Gacha game that has taken the world by storm, that he completely forgot about installing the VCT client in time for the match. This resulted in their inability to play and the game was eventually declared a forfeit in favor of their opponents, S2 Esports.

The incident occurred during the Valorant Challengers League Taiwan/Hong Kong on May 2, and while some members of the community were understanding of the player’s obsession with Honkai, others expressed concern over why the VCT client needed to be installed again during the middle of the regular season.

Apparently, the reason behind this was due to the league using three different clients, with each client being swapped between weekly. This week’s client update was required to include Bind and a new skin set, making it nearly identical to the latest release. The update was the size of a normal client, but unfortunately, the distracted player failed to complete the installation on time.

The community reaction to this event has been mixed, with some expressing sympathy and others expressing bewilderment. Fans jokingly remarked that “3D waifus take over,” while others expressed concern over the impact that video game addiction can have on professional esports players.

Despite the disappointment felt by Ghost CommandoS, who finished eighth in this Challengers League season, the incident serves as a reminder to all teams to ensure that their players are fully focused and prepared for their matches and to avoid distractions that may compromise their performance.

Overall, this bizarre incident highlights the potential pitfalls of video game addiction and the importance of staying focused in the competitive gaming world.
