GIGABYTE Partners with Skyesports for Cafe League 2024 in India

Empowering Local Talent: GIGABYTE and Skyesports Unite for Esports Upliftment in India

In a significant move to promote grassroots-level esports in India, GIGABYTE, a renowned name in the computer hardware industry, has announced a partnership with Skyesports, India’s premier esports tournament organizer. This collaboration brings forth the GIGABYTE Cafe League 2024, an ambitious esports tournament that will tour five Indian cities, offering local players a platform to showcase their skills in the highly anticipated Counter-Strike 2 game.

The GIGABYTE Cafe League 2024 promises to be a thrilling event for the gaming community, with each city hosting an open-for-all Counter-Strike 2 tournament, featuring a prize pool of INR 25,000.

  • Kolkata (Fusion Max Cafe): Jan. 19 to 21
  • Mumbai (Next Level Gaming, Goregaon): Jan. 26 to 28
  • Nasik (Next Level Gaming, Yeolekar Mala): Feb. 2 to 4
  • Faridabad (The Cabal): Feb. 9 to 11
  • Pune (Rapid Rounds Gaming Cafe): Feb. 16 to 18

Additionally, each city in the GIGABYTE Cafe League 2024 will have a dedicated experience zone, offering players a chance to game on state-of-the-art GIGABYTE laptops like the GIGABYTE G5 MF and the AORUS 15 9KF.

Supriya Gawde Mankame, Assistant General Manager at GIGABYTE India, expressed excitement about the tournament. “The GIGABYTE Cafe League 2024 is more than just an esports event; it’s a celebration of the community in local gaming cafes across India,” she said. “Our partnership aims to rejuvenate the vibrant gaming cafe culture, particularly in the post-COVID-19 era.”

The league also aims to introduce players to the latest GIGABYTE technology. Each city will feature a dedicated experience zone, where gamers can test out advanced GIGABYTE laptops like the GIGABYTE G5 MF and the AORUS 15 9KF.

Skyesports’ Head of Global Business Partnerships, Sashank Bhandaru, highlighted the significance of gaming cafes in the Indian PC gaming culture and expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with GIGABYTE. “This partnership aligns perfectly with our $1 million roadmap for Counter-Strike 2 in 2024, as we continue to foster grassroots esports initiatives,” he added.

The GIGABYTE Cafe League will span over three days in each city. The first two days are set for offline qualifiers, leading to the grand Finale on the third day. The final showdown will be live-streamed on the Skyesports YouTube channel, where the city champions will be crowned, further fueling the excitement in the esports community.
