Godlike Esports’ ZGOD Dismisses Rumors of Leaving Esports, Talks About Getting Benched

Godlike Esports, once considered as one of the best teams in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), has found itself struggling with a series of setbacks since BGMI’s relaunch in May 2023. To overcome these setbacks, the organization tried a lot of things, including signing new players, letting go existing players, or bench players. However, the team has still not succeeded in making a comeback.

Amid this rough time, Godlike Esports’ BGMI player Suraj “Neyoo” Majumdar previously stated that his teammate Abhishek ” ZGOD” Choudhary might be leaving BGMI esports. In a recent live stream, ZGOD clarified his stance on this, and stated that he was just considering getting benched for the betterment of the team.

Godlike Esports’ ZGOD Clarifies He is Not Leaving Esports

ZGOD recently went live on his YouTube channel. While playing the game, his viewers started spamming ‘Sorry’ in his chat section as they believed ZGOD was leaving esports due to the backlash he was receiving from the fanbase. Addressing this, ZGOD clarified that he was not leaving esports. “Who said I am leaving esports? Do you want me to leave esports? It is nothing to stress about. I am not going anywhere,” he said.

After a break of around three months, Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS), an upcoming official BGMI tournament, is rumored to start soon. In order perform well in this tournament, ZGOD asked the team to try playing without him. “I am not sure what Neyoo told you guys; I haven’t seen his stream. But yes, I told him that I won’t be playing for some time because we have been playing for a long time. Sometimes I was getting benched, sometimes other players were getting benched. Everyone used to get benched, but we couldn’t perform well. BGIS is coming soon, so I told the team to try without me. Because there is no point in missing another official tournament,” he said.

Lastly, ZGOD expressed gratitude for the support of his fans. “It’s your support that keeps me going,” he said. “I won’t leave esports anytime soon.”
