As Grand Theft Auto V continues to count its last days under the sun, reports have surfaced that the developers have suffered yet another data breach causing the source code to get leaked which also contained critical information concerning the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 and Bully 2.
Rockstar has been on the receiving end of hacks in recent times and it started with GTA 6 files getting leaked online now reports suggest that the source code is from the 2022 version of GTA V but speculations suggest that the leak could be traced back to the original data breach that revealed that files under development from GTA 6.
Looking at the files with a fine-toothed comb, the Grand Theft Auto V source code houses files that potentially belong to GTA 6 and Bully 2, two highly anticipated games of recent times. Despite their best efforts, the data has been circulated long enough that it will be next to impossible for it to circulate further.
With the source code getting leaked, gamers may doubt playing the game for the next few days over obvious security concerns. As much as the news of GTA 6 and Bully 2 makes fans happy, it can be argued that incidents like data breaches force Rockstar to allocate resources to contain the damage which in turn will further slow down the development of either one of the two games.
There is still a year before GTA 6 sees the light of day and as GTA Online continues to thrive, it will be on Rockstar’s priority list to shut down any and all vulnerabilities that may arise now that every hacker in the world can get access to their source code.
