Epic Games is hosting an in-game tournament event named #FreeFortnite Cup. It will be last tournament for iOS devices until the lawsuit between Apple and Epic Games come to an end. Following a rift between the two giants, Apple has revoked all the developer access for the duration of lawsuit.
Apple was unhappy when Fortnite announced their own in-game payment system which skips their 30% cut. They removed Fortnite from App store and Epic Games filed a lawsuit against them in response. Epic games have revolted against this monopoly and launched a social campaign running the forefront with a ‘#FreeFortnite’ hashtag. This tournament can be considered as a part of this whole revolt.
The tournament will be last tournament for iOS users as Fortnite will head into Chapter Two: Season Four on 27 August. iOS users are not privy of using the game on their devices until the lawsuit settles the things between Apple and Epic Games.

#FreeFortnite Cup will be available in-game under Compete tab for a limited time from today at 7:30 PM IST/2:00 PM UST. Players can claim the #1 victory royale by defeating their opponents in Solo mode. They can jump into the game during a limited period of four hours by clicking under #FreeFortnite Cup Playlist.
Rules:
The players will be alloted points in the following format:
- Active Time – 1 point for every 3 minutes on the BR island
- Eliminations – 1 point per kill
- Victory Royale – 10 points for each Victory Royale
Players scoring 10 points will be gifted a Tart Tycoon Outfit and all the players can play upto 12 matches in this tournament. A more detailed criteria according to various regions is given below:

Epic Games provides a plethora of prizes for this tournament, ranging from in-game cosmetics to gaming hardwares. The in-game skin is called as Tart Tycoon Outfit which looks like an outfit with evil apple head. They created a parody clip some while ago where they mocked Apple by creating an evil version of their logo. That logo and this outfit share a lot of similarities.
Along with such cosmetics, Epic Games have are offering an exclusive apparel in form of a hat donning “Free Fortnite” slogan. A huge range of gaming peripherals will be awarded to the top 1200 ‘apple-eaters’ globally. The list of gifts is given below:
