PUBG Mobile has developed a very popular Esports scene within a short period. The Indian scene saw Soul dominate the Indian qualifiers of PUBG Mobile Club Open Spring Split LAN at Berlin, grabbing a spot directly into the Main Event.
Team IND and Indian Tigers, who came second and third respectively, have qualified for the prelims of the Berlin LAN, with the prelims set to start on July 20. But, it seems the two teams will be at a disadvantage before they even drop onto the map, with Visa issues propping it’s ugly head.
According to Mortal, who explained the situation on his stream, all of the three Indian teams are having troubles with VISA clearances. Team IND player ScoutOP has had his visa rejected, with Mortal claiming that Indian Tigers are also in the same boat.
This means that the likely scenario is the two teams playing the prelims from NODWIN Gaming’s Offices, which in turn, will hand the two Indian teams a grave ping disadvantage compared to the teams who will be in Berlin for the prelims.
Mortal also highlighted that one of the major reasons of the VISA issues were due to the Indian Government not having a body overseeing or supporting the Esports scene in India, which makes getting clearances for countries like USA, Germany and others tough for the young pros.
While Mortal’s team Soul have a bit of extra time and are hopeful of being successful in their re-application, the chances of Team IND and Indian Tigers making it to the Main Event have taken a strong hit.
Although, if either or both of the two teams were to somehow qualify, despite the ping difference, they could have a chance of making it to the Main Event in Berlin.
