Is Palworld Cross Platform?

Over the past few weeks, Pocket Pair’s newest monster-catching action-adventure title Palworld has taken the world of video games by storm. With over 19 million copies being sold and a concurrent player peak of a whopping 2.1 million on Steam alone, Palworld has sent shockwaves throughout the gaming industry by becoming the second-most played game ever on Steam in terms of peak active players.

If you’re a fan of the Pokemon franchise and looking to venture into a world where base-building meets monster-catching, Palworld is the game for you.

Like most other open-world survival games on the internet, Palworld is best enjoyed with friends. While you can certainly have a good time playing it by yourself and catching all sorts of Pals that you can find, playing with your buddies can make the process much easier and more enjoyable.

However, before you go ahead and purchase Palworld on your preferred platform, it’s extremely important to know whether the game supports crossplay between Xbox and PC so that you can play it with your friends.

Does Palworld Have Crossplay Between Xbox and PC?

To put it simply, while there’s a way for players to play cross-platform between Xbox and PC, it lacks crossplay functionality between the Steam and Xbox versions.

This means that Xbox players can enjoy Palworld with friends who are using the Game Pass version on PC, and vice versa. However, crossplay is not available between the Steam and Xbox versions, meaning players on Steam cannot connect with their friends on Xbox, and vice versa. Additionally, players on the Steam version on PC cannot play with friends who are on the Game Pass version.

However, Palworld developers have confirmed that the game will support crossplay between the Steam and Xbox versions at some point in the future. In a Discord Q&A, the devs have claimed that they are “working to make this [crossplay] a possibility as soon as possible.”
