KSI’s energy drink PRIME is in high demand and the supplier are often failing to keep up however, once they are available, consumers have reported self-checkout machines failing to keep up, more specifically in the UK-based shopping chain Sainsbury.
The self-checkout machines at many Sainsbury outlets across the United Kingdom have started to malfunction because of the heavy demand for said drink. Customers have reported the machines starting to malfunction even when they are trying to purchase anything besides PRIME.
Sainbury being a Supermarket with heavy footfall at all times of the day has caused chaos and according to an employee, they had to manually reset all machines overnight just to drive the error away.
One customer took his issue to Twitter where he explained that the machines are constantly reporting “no more than 3 drinks per customer” even when they are not trying to purchase a beverage.
“I’m 99% certain @PrimeHydrate has caused a nationwide malfunction in all Sainsbury’s self-checkout machines. Right now – the error code says “no more than 3 drinks per customer”, even if you’re not buying a beverage Prime isn’t even available in Sainsbury’s until tomorrow” reads the Tweet.
Not the best start for the drink in the UK market but this did not seem to drive away the hype built around the drink. When all the issues are fixed and the supply increases to meet the demand, this drink holds the potential to disrupt the highly competitive energy drink market.
