Team Liquid have been invited to IEM Sydney, which will take place from April 30-May 5 at the Qudos Bank Area.
The other teams invited thus far are FaZe,MIBR,NiP and Renegades. Swole Patrol were also invited, but could make way for eUnited, who acquired most of their players.
This is the first time the North American side is attending the event, after having lost to NRG in the NA qualifer. The boys in blue will attend two Blast Pro Series tournaments in Sao Paulo and Miami before going down under for the $250,000 tournament.
It will be important that Liquid start putting in some good performances, specially after a shock exit in the quartfinals of the IEM Katowice Major to Finnish Side ENCE, after being tipped to go all the way to the finals. Their latest addition, Stewie2k, brings a lot of firepower as well as hope for a good showing from NA.
IEM Sydey features 9 direct invites, the rest of which will be announced in due course, and 5 qualifiers, mainly from Asia and Ocenia. Indian fans will hope that Entity can make it all the way to the main event, after having qualified for the closed qualifiers last week.
