LoL Patch 14.12: Release Date and Champion Changes

Aatrox & Naafiri Adjustments Highlight Upcoming Patch Changes

League of Legends (LoL) players are eagerly anticipating the release of Patch 14.12, which is set to bring a host of changes to the game’s champions, items, and systems. Following the more conservative Patch 14.11, which focused on nerfing some overperforming champions, the upcoming patch promises to be a game-changer with its adjustments and new content.

Release Date and Expectations

Patch 14.12 is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, June 12, as confirmed by multiple sources. This update is one of the 24 planned for the year, and it’s expected to have a significant impact on the game’s meta, although the full extent of the changes is not yet clear.

Champion Changes

Aatrox and Naafiri Adjustments

Aatrox is seeing a mix of nerfs and buffs, with his health regen growth being reduced and armor growth increased. His E ability, Umbral Dash, will have its damage vamp altered, and his ultimate, World Ender, will receive a significant increase in healing amplification at all ranks.

Naafiri’s passive, We Are More, will provide more base AD to packmates, and her Q ability, Darkin Daggers, will have a slightly higher cooldown at early ranks but remain the same at max rank. Additionally, her E ability, Eviscerate, will see a cooldown reduction.

ADC Changes

The patch initially included a massive stat pass for multiple ADCs, aiming to increase their defensive scaling while reducing AD and attack speed growth. However, these changes were reverted shortly after the patch notes were released, indicating that the developers may need more time before implementing such major adjustments.

Item and System Changes

Opportunity’s lethality will now work with the Jack of All Trades rune, offering players new ways to optimize their builds and strategies. Additionally, the First Strike rune in the Inspiration tree will have its base gold reduced from 15 to 10, as Riot aims to prevent it from becoming too powerful.

Upcoming Skins

Players can look forward to a variety of new skins, including Risen Legend Ahri, Immortalized Legend Ahri, Signature Ahri, Risen Legend Leblanc, and Crystal Indomitus Xerath. These skins are set to be available on July 28, 2022.

As we await the full list of changes in Patch 14.12, it’s clear that the update will bring significant tweaks to champions and the overall game experience. With the adjustments to Aatrox and Naafiri, the integration of item interactions, and the introduction of new skins, players have much to look forward to. Keep an eye out for the patch’s release on June 12 and prepare to dive into the Hall of Legends.
