Ex LOL World Champion Toyz sentenced to prison for drug trafficking

LOL 2012 World Champion Kurtis ‘Toyz’ Lau has been sentenced to four years and two months in prison in Taiwan for trafficking marijuana in the country. Last year, Toyz was prosecuted in Taiwan for drug trafficking in Taiwan. He was arrested after the Taiwan police seized more than 200 marijuana pods. Those pods were located in several locations around the country.

Lately, the League of Legends pro Toyz pleaded guilty in the courtroom and got sentenced to four years and two months in prison. The Taichung District Court convicted him of six crimes.

According to Toyz’s lawyer, he didn’t appear in court and also expected a lighter sentence.

LOL pro Toyz was first arrested last year in September for selling marijuana. Then the Taiwan police found 200 packs of drugs. At that time, the Taichung District Court granted bail for $50,000 as he pleaded guilty.

After that incident, the Taichung District Prosecutor’s Office noticed a second-level drug reaction in Toyz’s hair while he entered the rehabilitation center.

Toyz got released from the rehabilitation center in January 2022 and got prosecuted by the Taichung District Court for four second-degree drug trafficking along with two attempted drug-trafficking crimes. Apart from that, the court also prosecuted seven other people for assisting Toyz in drug trafficking.

Finally, the court punished the Ex LOL World Champion with four years and two months of imprisonment.
