Metro’s third title in the series, Exodus came out in 2019 and was one of the first games that supported ray-tracing and pushed NVIDIA’s then newly released RTX 2000 series graphics cards to their limit, this was of no surprise as the game still looks amazing to this day.
Earlier this year, Developer 4A announced that the PC version of Metro Exodus will be getting a visual overhaul as part of Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition – which will be free for all current owners of the original game and will be available as a standalone title.
According to 4A’s blog post, Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition “will offer additional Ray Tracing features, including Advanced Ray Traced Reflections and support for DLSS 2.0 on NVIDIA hardware, which offers sharper image details and increased framerates and display resolutions.”
In addition, console players won’t be left out as owners of PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will be getting the enhanced version of the game, also available as a free update for owners of both Xbox One and PS4 versions and will include ray-tracing and other visual enhancements. The game will run at 4K/60FPS with ray tracing on Xbox Series X and PS5 and1060p 60FPS, also with ray tracing on Xbox Series S.
Earlier today, the release date and requirements were announced for the PC version. However, 4A did not specify anything regarding the console versions.
If you’re looking to grab a copy of Metro Exodus, you can get it as a part of next month’s Humble Choice bundle along with other titles. Metro Exodus is also available on Steam, GOG, and EGS.
