On November 29th, South Korean Twitch streamer ‘Mhyochi’ was harassed by two men while livestreaming on the streets of Khar, India.
The 24-year-old later resorted to Twitter to call for help from the Mumbai police and asked them to take action against the two individuals who were involved in the incident.
A video that has surfaced on the internet shows the two men pulling the woman by her hand and attempting to molest her even after she rejected their advances. Once she walks away from the men, they begin to follow her on a motorbike and try to give her a ride home.
“Last night on stream, there was a guy who harassed me,” she said in a Tweet. “I tried my best not to escalate the situation and leave because he was with his friend. And some people said that it was initiated by me being too friendly and engaging the conversation. Makes me think again about streaming.”
Only a day after the video surfaced online, Mumbai Police reportedly arrested the two men after receiving the video on their Twitter handle.
Once they registered an FIR, it didn’t take long for the police to identify the two individuals who are aged 19 and 21.
According to some reports, Mumbai Police tried to reach out to the streamer but she refused, claiming that she’ll come at a later date.
