Capcom’s latest entry in the Monster Hunter series was previously announced for Nintendo Switch, the first-ever Monster Hunter title on the handheld console, and will release on March 26.
But Capcom has now confirmed that a PC version will arrive on Steam in early 2022. Considering how Monster Hunter Rise runs on their in-house and fairly optimized RE Engine as compared to Monster Hunter World’s MT Framework engine, this shouldn’t be too tricky.
In an interview with IGN, series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto stated “We received a lot of requests for a PC version of Monster Hunter Rise, particularly from overseas players, and so we have decided to develop a version for PC which we aim to release in early 2022.”
Monster Hunter: World was a huge success, selling as much as 17 million units over all platforms. It’s no secret that Capcom would want to generate more revenue from their next title.
This is further backed by the fact that there is a Steam logo in Monster Hunter Rise’s official website.
More PC details will be revealed in the future.
