Movistar Riders edge past Renegades at PGL CSGO Major

With two of the least experienced teams from the PGL Stockholm Major clashing, expectations were given they were the only team from their respective region, with Movistar being the first Spanish team to make it to the major and Renegades from making it out of the Oceanian qualifiers.

Both teams decided on Nuke as the way to go for their start at the Major with Movistar Riders delivering off the back of their recent form to post some early rounds despite losing the second round of their T-side to Alistair ‘aliStair’ Johnston’s heroics with just a deagle.

The Spanish side never took their foot off the gas as Alejando ‘alex’ Masanet led a well-poslished side that is set to ask a few questions of the top contenders at the major. Their grip on the match was solid on the T side, where they posted 9 rounds, which is a solid buffer heading into the CT side.

The second half of the game was a much closer affair, Renedages cutting it close on several occasions. Movistar’s lead on the T side let them look away from a few mistakes that they made on their CT side, which ended up giving the Aussies a real shot at making a comeback.

Alejandro ‘mopoz’ Fernández-Quejo was a star for the Spanish side and the highest rated player on the server. Dropping a whopping 32 frags with 101.4 ADR across the 29 rounds played. Overall, a start convincing enough for their fans who can now believe that they are set for a deeper run at the Major.
