MPL announces Chess tournament to raise funds for COVID-19 relief

MPL has announced a chess tournament to raise funds which will be later on donated to the CM’s Covid Relief Fund to help fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mobile Premier League (MPL) has announced that they will be hosting a Chess tournament in order to raise funds for COVID-19 relief. They announced the same on their Instagram handle as shown below:

MPL is truly honoured to host such a tournament in association with Dept. Of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Govt. of Karnataka, and United Karnataka Chess Association. The prize pool for this tournament is 10,00,000 Lakh INR (around $13,000 USD). All the proceeds which will be collected from the tournament will be donated to CM’s Covid Relief Fund and will be put to use to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic that the country is going through right now.

The registrations for the tournament have begun. The tournament will take place on 2nd and 3rd of May. You can sign up for the tournament in the MPL app itself, and you can download the app by visiting this link.
