All you need to know about ASUS ROG Masters 2016

ASUS has announced that the registrations for ROG Masters are now open for registrations for CS:GO and DotA 2. This tournament is only for Asia region and incorporates five different regions in Asia (East Asia, South East Asia, Rest of Asia (mainly subcontinent), Oceania and China) and hundreds of teams, all vying for their chance to win a share of the 50,000 USD prize pool for CSGO and 150,000 USD prize pool for DotA 2.

ROG MASTERS will take place from August until November, starting with an open registration phase in August, followed by regional online group stages in September. The offline Grand Finals will be held in the City Center of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the 12th and 13th of November.

ROG MASTERS covers all of Asia, which is split into five regions for this tournament:

  • Oceania (OCE): Australia, New Zealand, …
  • East Asia (EA): Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, …
  • Southeast Asia (SEA): Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, …
  • China (CN)
  • Rest of Asia (ROA): India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, …

Every team will be randomly assigned to a group. The group stage kicks off with a round-robin format, in which each team plays each other team in their group in one Best of 1 match. The top two teams in each group proceed to the single elimination grid. At this point of the tournament, the competition will get more fierce, as in Southeast Asia and East Asia a few additional teams will come into play, who will have earned their spots by winning special tournaments organized by ROG MASTERS.

After the wild single-elimination grid ride, the best two teams from every region will advance to the offline finals in Malaysia.

2 Online Qualifiers will take place for each game. From every qualifier top 2 teams will advance to LAN Finals happening at Blitz Zone, Bangalore on 1st and 2ndOctober.

The top 2 teams of India qualifiers for each game will get a slot in Quarter Finals of Rest of Asia (ROA) Qualifiers. As such, the other teams who couldn’t qualify from India Qualifiers, they can still participate in ROA Qualifiers by completing the team registration here.

Prizes at the main event.
  • Travel Expenses to LAN Finals of ROG Masters (India Qualifiers) happening on 1st and 2nd October in Bangalore for Top 2 teams of each qualifier will be covered by ASUS ROG.
  • 1st place team at India LAN Finals will be awarded GL552VW notebook + 5 x Cerberus mouse pads. The team will also get a slot in Quarter Finals of Rest of Asia (ROA) Qualifiers.
  • 2nd place team at India LAN Finals will be awarded 5 x Cerberus Mouse + 5 x Cerberus Keyboard. The team will also get a slot in Quarter Finals of Rest of Asia (ROA) Qualifiers.
  • All the remaining 4 teams at India Qualifier LAN Finals will be awarded 5 x Cerberus Mouse pads.

ROG MASTERS INDIA QUALIFIER SCHEDULE:

  • 23rd August – 8th September Qualifier #1 Registration
  • 23rd August – 17th September Qualifier #2 Registrations
  • 10th September – 16th September Online Qualifier #1
  • 19th September – 25th September Qualifier #2
  • 1st – 2nd October LAN Finale [Bengaluru]

Rest of Asia (ROA) India, Bangladesh, Nepal, SriLanka, Maldives

  • Oct. 3 – Oct. 9

The Grand Finals will mesmerize the visitors and viewers with an exciting mix of CS:GO and Dota 2. The 24 teams in total – 12 for CS:GO and 12 for Dota 2 – will enter the stage and battle for the favor of the crowd and the prize. In addition to the 10 teams that reach the offline stage from the qualifier, there will be two professional teams directly invited for each game.

Attending the grand finals will be free of charge, there would be no ticket fees or any other requirements to view the CSGO and DotA 2 grand finals which would take place on 12th and 13th of November in Kuala Lumpur City Center, Malaysia.
