According to XPaw, the creator behind SteamDB, the new Steam Store listing not only belongs to Valve, but also has its own server associated with it.
The news was brought to light by a Reddit user through a post on the ‘r/GamingLeaksAndRumours’ subreddit, and the community has been scratching their heads trying to figure out what this new Valve listing might entail.
Additionally, the unidentified Valve app has received regular updates since its initial emergence on the Steam Store on January 23, further fueling fan speculation that it may be tied to a major upcoming announcement.
Could This New Valve Game Be Half-Life 3?
At the start of 2025, Mike Shapiro, the voice behind G-Man in the Half-Life games, shared a cryptic X (formerly Twitter) post seemingly celebrating the new year. In his post, he suggested some “unexpected surprises” in the near future, which might hint at a new title being added to the Half-Life series.
With that being said, no official information on this enigmatic new addition to the Steam Store has been disclosed by Valve at the time of writing. And as we know, Valve isn’t a big fan of the number three—so any hope for a fabled Half-Life 3 release might be a longshot.
