New Valorant Map to be Set in Lisbon, Portugal: Leaks

As the release date of Valorant Episode 5 Act 1 draws near, Riot Games has already started teasing details of the new Valorant map that the new episode will bring to the shooter.

It has been a while since Valorant’s newest map, Fracture, was added to the shooter back in September 2021. Fans of the shooter have been eagerly waiting for a new map since then. Luckily, Valorant Episode 5 Act 1 is set to bring an end to the wait, as it will bring with it a new map that will be set in Lisbon, Portugal, according to leaks.

New Valorant Map: What We Know So Far

On June 9th, Riot Games posted a picture on their Twitter handle that appears to be a teaser for the new Valorant map.

‘Prepare to dive,’ the caption reads, showing a picture of what appears to be an underwater city. The text on the picture, when translated from Portugese, says, “Celebrate our City, A marvel below the Waves.”

This can potentially hint towards the new Valorant map being completely underwater, and many fans of the title are comparing this location to that of the underwater city of Rapture in the BioShock series.

While not much else has been teased by Riot regarding the upcoming map, we have seen plenty of leaks surfacing in the past that can give us a decent idea of what the new map will be like.

In the past, dataminer Disturbo had managed to leak some of the files for the Arcane bundle which had a texture revealing the coordinates to Lisbon, Portugal.

Players were also quick to notice that the cards found at the end of the current battlepass displayed yellow trams which are famously from Lisbon. Popular Valorant dataminer ‘ValorLeaks’ further pointed out that in a voicemail from Fade, added in the 4.09 patch, she explained that she saw a “place of secrets” in the minds of Lisbon’s people.

These clues have led Valorant fans to believe that the next map will be set in Lisbon, Portugal. The exact release date for the new map hasn’t been set in stone yet, but fans can expect to see it land alongside the Episode 5 Act 1 update around June 18th.
