Spanish organization G2 has confirmed the arrival of Nikola ‘Niko’ Kovac from Faze Clan. There is yet to be any mention of the fees involved in such a transaction. However, considering Niko’s stature, it is likely to have cost a fortune to Team G2.
Niko spent more than 3 years at Faze Clan and came ever-so-close to securing the Major title, only to lose to Cloud9 in a dramatic fashion.
Niko’s transfer coincides with rumors of Olof ‘olofmeister’ Kajbjer’s potential return to activity in Faze Clan and it is likely that the Swede will take his former teammate’s place in the active lineup.
As for G2, they now have a 6-man roster and the active lineup is yet to be revealed. There were rumors of Francois ‘Amanek’ Delaunay stepping down to make room for Niko and it will be intriguing to see if that ends up being the case.
Niko thanked the Faze fans, players, and everyone associated with the organization for the time he spent on the roster while also lamenting that perhaps, ‘it’s the best for both parties this way’.
The transfer ensures a brotherly union at G2, with Nemanja ‘huNter’ Kovac already a star for the organisation.
