Nodding Heads’ Raji wins big at 2021 Taipei Game Show

Released last year, the debut title of the Indian developers Nodding Heads Games single-player ancient Hindu mythology game “Raji: An Ancient Epic” has won three awards in three different categories —  Best Narration, Grand Prix, Winners Circle Awards, at the Taipei Game Show 2021 Indie Game Awards.

The game was first released on Nintendo Switch in August 2020 where it received a very good reception and reviews. Later the game came to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platform in October 2020. Since its release, the game has been praised for its storytelling and beautifully created environment. The game currently sits comfortably at a “very positive” review on Steam and enjoys a well deserved 9/10 rating.

In November last year, Raji became the first game ever developed by an Indian studio to be nominated at The Game Awards 2020 in the Best Debut Game category. Although it didn’t manage to win the award, the game still won hearts and support back at home. And now with three awards from Taipei Game Show under its belt, the game will further gain popularity in India.

Raji is a story about an orphaned but brave circus performer named Raji. She sets out on a dangerous journey in Ancient India to find her only family member and younger brother, Golu, who was kidnapped by Demons while Raji and Golu were performing at the carnival on Raksha Bandhan. Aided by Hindu deities, Goddess Durga and Lord Vishu, Raji races through the Ruins of ancient India fighting her way through obstacles and demons.
