Nodwin Gaming has made a historic deal with Star Sports by signing a partnership that enables them to broadcast BGMI tournaments on television. The first BGMI tournament that will be aired live will be BGMI Masters Series with a ₹1.5 Crore prize pool.

Esports viewership is about to get a big boost as the Battlegrounds Mobile India is coming to television for the first time ever. This partnership between Nodwin Gaming and Star Sports has enabled esports fans to watch their favorite teams compete in tournaments on their television.

BGMI Master Series will start on 24th June 2022 and will be live on Star Sports 2 from the time period of 8.30 PM to 11.30 PM IST. A total of 24 teams will be participating in this event and further details are yet to be released by the organizers.

Akshat Rathee, the Managing Director and Co-founder of Nodwin Gaming commented on this partnership. His statement is given below:

Through this collaboration with a mainstream sports channel, we hope to break that mold. Satellite television does have its advantages, like its unrivaled reach across every nook and corner of the country, uninterrupted and timely broadcast that is not dependent on internet connectivity, and speed as well as affordability for the masses living in far-out areas.

Disney Star’s Head of Sports Sanjog Gupta had the following to say about this esteemed collaboration:

Esports in India is a fast-growing segment which has seen accelerated adoption over the last two years. It has immense headroom for growth in India when compared with its status in evolved markets around the world. It is also gaining prominence in the ecosystem as a competitive sport. Esports competitions have already developed a niche following on digital platforms.

This is not the first time that esports will see the face of television but it is definitely the first time that such a massive event will be broadcasted on television within the prime time of 8:30 PM to 11:30 PM IST.

The partnership aims to grow esports in India even more and this move will most certainly bring a larger audience to the BGMI esports community.
