HLTV finally announced the #1 Counter Strike: Global Offensive player of 2015 after player by player from the 20th spot. The 23 year old Swede and Counter Strike maestro, Olof ‘olofmeister’ Kajbjer has been rightfully titled as The Player Of The Year 2015.
Olofmeister, who comes from his rather not so immaculate 1.6 background, where he would usually play as a stand-in or in mix teams as the golden 1.6 era slowly faded away. In the summer of 2014, Olof and his teammate Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson, signed on to fnatic, and thus the team began their walk on the road to reaching the apex of showcasing teamwork combined with pure, raw skill.
Olofmeister in fnatic became an ideal to many, mostly due to his ocean calm nerves during the game, and extremely sharp skills. His ‘Burning Defuse’ against Team Dignitas clearly showed how calm, composed, optimistic and none the less daring, Olofmeister can be when he is on point, none of which can either be taught or learnt. His creativity and decision making during the game is purely godlike, even though the boost incident on overpass against Team LDLC in the quarter finals of DreamHack Winter made him and his team go through a rough phase, where they were even considering permanent retirement from the game, which was revealed by Jesper “JW” Wecksell in an interview with Duncan “Thorin” Shields.
Fifflaren: ”Olofmeister is the best player in the world”
However, the team stuck together and it brought them to their first major of 2015 in Aspen, MLG X-Games, where they were still deemed as villains due to the boosting controversy. Olofmeister clearly underperformed, with a rating of 0.97 , while also pulling in his lowest KPR (kills per round) of the year with 0.65. Team fnatic managed to secure the 4th position.
Olof was throned MVP in ESL One Katowice, DreamHack Open Summer, ESL ESEA Pro League S1 and FaceIt S3. While his team stood on the #1 spot in 10 prestigous tournaments and a total of 18 times in the Top-3.
He has been a consistent Rifler, AWPer, Entryfragger, Pistoler, and clutch player throughout the year, with a 71.2% round-win rate that almost guaranteed a round win every time he picked up even one kill.
Four out of seven, $250,000 events, Olof was the highest rated player, while his team won five out of seven, and apart from those he was the best player in 17 out of 20 events that fnatic attended while winning 18 of them. Making Olof “Olofmeister” Kajbjer the Best CS:GO Player of 2015. The complete list of the world’s best 20 CSGO players has been phenomenal with debates hovering over GuardiaN vs olof to be named as the best.
