Overwatch 2 Is Plagued With Cheaters at the Highest Level

Cheating isn’t exactly new to Overwatch, but having a large number of cheaters at the highest level is borderline spring given it takes a plethora of matches to get there without being noticed.

While the cheating issue isn’t as alarming as CS2, for a competitive game, even a handful of them can ruin the experience for the masses. Developers are taking the necessary steps but the community has noticed a sudden rise in the number of cheaters they are facing in competitive matches, more specifically in the top 500.

It’s been about two years since Overwatch 2 was released and it is shocking to see that the community still finds it on the receiving end of the cheaters. Scrolling through Reddit, you will find many clips where players face blatant cheaters who have managed to secure a position in the top 500. To get to that point without getting banned is simply alarming.

“Something’s up with Overwatch. There’s been a massive influx of cheaters in the last couple of weeks. There’s a notorious duo that’s running around the middle of Top 500, just cheating every single day. They’ve been doing it in people’s streams, and nothing ever happens.”

This has garnered a lot of attention in the Overwatch community and it’s only a matter of time till this reaches the developers. It is safe to assume that once incidents such as this is pointed out, the cheaters will get banned in no time. The rise of cheaters has been observed at all levels of the game which begs the question, when will players finally get an anti-cheat that compares to Vanguard?
