Overwatch 2 Season 15: Starting Date, Skins & More

The next major update for Overwatch 2, Season 15, is promising a fresh wave of content for players. With the game now over two years old, Blizzard continues its commitment to regular seasonal updates, even amidst competition from newer titles like Marvel Rivals.

While specific details remain somewhat scarce, we’ve gathered the key information available so far regarding the upcoming season.

Overwatch 2 Season 15 Starting Date

Season 15 is slated to launch on February 18, 2025. This date aligns with the conclusion of Season 14, ensuring a seamless transition between seasons. As with previous updates, the new content is expected to go live around 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST / 6 PM GMT.

Overwatch 2 Season 15

While Season 14 introduced the new Tank hero, Hazard, Season 15 appears to be shifting focus. Instead of a new character, rumors and hints suggest the arrival of a brand-new map. Players have spotted subtle clues pointing towards an intriguing new location. One such hint comes from a new in-game interaction between Lifeweaver and Orisa, where they discuss an “arcology.”

What Else Will Be Introduced With Overwatch 2 Season 15?

Orisa mentions that her creator, Efi, once presented at a conference held there. This ties into previous references within the Midtown map, where Hyper-rail trains have destinations pointing towards an “Atlantic Arcology,” suggesting an underwater setting.

If this pans out, it would mark the first official underwater map in Overwatch 2. Although, it wouldn’t be the first underwater experience in the game altogether. Blizzard previously showcased a community-created map called Talantis, giving players a brief taste of underwater gameplay. We’ll keep you updated with more concrete information about the new map surfaces.

Adding another layer of excitement, Season 15 coincides with Overwatch 2’s highly anticipated return to the Chinese market. Following a resolution of previous disagreements between Blizzard and NetEase, the game is set to relaunch in China.

Game Director Aaron Keller has teased exclusive content for Chinese players on the Chinese social media platform Rednote, including special skins and events. These players will also have the opportunity to acquire older Mythic-tier skins from past Battle Passes they might have missed.

Beyond the Chinese market, all players can anticipate new Lunar New Year-themed cosmetics. At this stage, it’s unclear which heroes will receive these special skins. Keller also hinted at new playable content associated with the Lunar New Year event, though the specifics remain a mystery. As we approach the launch of Season 15, more details are expected to emerge. Stay tuned for further updates.
