French esports organization Team Vitality have announced an extension to their contract with 20-year-old CS prodigy Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut till the end of 2024. The news has garnered widespread appreciation from French Counter-Strike fans as the city has lightened up with holograms of ZywOo.
The holograms that seemed to welcome ZywOo to the French roster were spread throughout the city in major monuments including the Panthéon, Trocadéro, Montmartre, and near the Arc de Triomphe.
“We are delighted that ZywOo has chosen to commit to being a member of Team Vitality for the next five year,” said Fabien “Neo” Devide, President & Co-Founder, Team Vitality. “A player like ZywOo comes along once in a generation and we couldn’t be happier to have him competing with us. Together with our performance team, we are committed to ensuring that ZywOo has the tools and infrastructure to continue reaching his full potential”
It goes without saying that ZywOo is undoubtedly one of the greatest plasters to have ever touched the competitive shooter. The #1 CSGO player of 2019 has been consistently showing his fans some stellar performances this year, and has helped his team land first-place finishes at the IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020 and BLAST Premier Fall 2020 Finals.
“Being a member of Team Vitality has always been such a natural fit for me. 2020 was a crazy year and I know that having Team Vitality and my teammates support me was one of the main reasons I excelled,” ZywOo said in a statement. “I am really excited to make this commitment and wear the Team Vitality shirt for another five years.”
