Pokimane and Fedmyster Drama Explained

Federico “Fedmyster” Gaytan’s recent announcement of returning to live streaming has reignited some past controversies involving him and fellow Twitch star Imane “Pokimane” Anys. For those of you who are still in the dark about the entire drama that occurred between the two and other OfflineTV members, we have you covered.

It all started back in June 2020, when OTV members Yvonne “Yvonnie” Ng and Lily “LilyPichu” Ki simultaneously made allegations of sexual misconduct against Fedmyster. Yvonnie claimed that Fed would touch her and slip his hand under her sleeves without her consent while being drunk, while Lilypichu accused Fed of massaging her thighs inappropriately.

Pokimane joined them by posting a video of her own regarding Fed, who was kicked off Offline TV for the allegations afterward. Pokimane alleged that Fed had “crossed boundaries” with her and sabotaged her relationships with other men.

While Poki declined to be involved in any relationship with Fed, some leaked documents which were deleted later seemed to contain a bunch of attached screenshots of text messages between Fedmyster and Pokimane, which seem to hint toward the two flirting with each other. In the document, Fed claimed that the two had grown much closer following their trip to Taiwan.

The document was aimed to capture Fed’s take on the situation, which was quite different from what Poki had been explaining to her viewers.

“Claims she has made about me are either false, twisting the truth, or misconstrued,” Fedmyster said.

Pokimane responded to these allegations in one of her future Twitch streams.

“He asked me not to mention this thing – which to me is an admission of guilt essentially.” the 24-year-old said. “But now, months later, he’s saying, ‘oh no, that’s not how it went down.'”

The controversy slowly settled down over the next few months, before eventually resurfacing a few days ago.

A year later after the initial incident, as Fedmyster acknowledged his past actions and announced his return to streaming, Pokimane has explained her thoughts to her viewers and claimed that she won’t be friends with “someone who sexually assaulted people” she cares about.

“It’s not my place to say whether or not a person has changed because their actions and words will eventually speak for themselves,” Pokimane said during a live stream. “All I know is that I can’t be friends with someone who sexually assaulted people I care about and handled it the way that he did.”
