A popular Japanese cosplayer called “Cosplay Queen”, who is known for cosplaying as various female anime characters, recently admitted that he is a man who purposefully used makeup, wigs, and various accessories to achieve feminine looks.
Rei Dunois, aka The Cosplay Queen, has over 65000 followers on twitter and 5400+ followers on Instagram. After keeping the appearance of a female cosplayer for several years, Rei had finally came out as a male shocking his followers. The talented cosplayer decided to reveal the truth and convince people that appearances can be deceiving and they shouldn’t believe everything they see on the internet.
The angelic face, the makeup, and a dream-like body helped him hide his real self and go unnoticed by the fans for years. The majority of Rei’s followers were man and the sudden revelation of Rei being a young man with a mustache left many fans in disbelief and questioning themselves. With the revelation, Rei also detailed the tricks he used to successfully pretend to be a woman. Some examples of which are camera angles, photo editing applications, and wearing special outfits fitted with silicon pads to get that angelic look.
The revelation caused a big shock among the followers, but the overall reactions were surprisingly positive, ranging from disbelief to admiration, with most commenters praising Rei for his makeup and digital editing skills.
