#TransTagNow movement has grown to greater heights as protesters gather around Twitch headquarters in San Francisco calling for a specific tag for the transgender category on Match 8th.
Twitch is the biggest individual live streaming platform on the market, thus it is saturated with tons of streamers broadcasting games of all sorts. Tags are implemented to categorize them, in order for the audience to find a stream that suffices their needs. For quite a while now, the community is asking for a Trans tag that highlights all the transgender streamers but all of it seems to fall on the deaf ears of Twitch.

‘They see us right now but we want them to know we have a whole community standing behind us,” said Mika Beth “I’m going to keep coming back, and keep coming back, until we get a trans tag.”.
Though an LGBTQ+ tag already exists in the realms of Twitch, the community is demanding a specific one for transgender that specifies them as a search group. The protest has been going on social media for months now and for the first time, protesters have taken such a step that makes a bold statement about their expectations from Twitch.
Twitch hasn’t responded to it as of late but their action would speak louder than words if they went ahead and introduced a Trans tag on their platform.
