The famous battle royale mobile game, PUBG Mobile has announced an upcoming collaboration with Dragon Ball Super which is Dragon Ball’s latest fantasy/adventure film named Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
Previously, Dragon Ball also collaborated with Fortnite known as the ‘Dragon Ball Power Unleashed!’ event. As a part of the event, with each quest completion players will receive a Dragon Ball which will increase their power level.
PUBG Mobile announced this collaboration through their social media accounts. Stating, “PUBG MOBILE x DRAGON BALL Coming soon in 2023”. No additional information was provided in the post. Although the post included the promotional image of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is a 2022 Japanese computer-animated martial arts fantasy/adventure film, directed by Tetsuro Kodama, produced by Toei Animation, and written by Dragon Ball series creator Akira Toriyama. It is the twenty-first Dragon Ball feature film overall.
It is the first time ever that Dragon Ball will be collaborating with the PUBG Mobile team. However, this is not the first time that PUBG Mobile has collaborated with an anime franchise. Previously, PUBG also collaborated with K-pop Blackpink in PUBG and Battlegrounds Mobile India.
BGMI Ban
Recently, BGMI got banned in India. As per reports, the Indian government banned BGMI by invoking Section 69A of the IT Act. A similar action was taken against PUBG Mobile before the game was banned in India where data protection and privacy were seen as subjects of concern.
Mobile esports in India is huge, which was seen in the recently finished esports tournament, ‘BGMI Masters Series 2022’, which has witnessed record viewership with more than 100 million views on the live game streaming platform, Loco.
