PUBG Mobile Esports has issued a statement regarding the behavior of a Brazilian Pro ‘NTX’ who used racist terms during a live stream broadcast. The player has been banned from playing competitive PUBG Mobile for the rest of this year.
The team has addressed this issue via their social media handles and clarified that such things would not be tolerated and to keep a healthier environment in the PUBG Mobile ecosystem, the player will be suspended, effective immediately for the next twelve months. Article 6.3.3 of the PMPL Brazil Rulebook was cited and the official statement is as follows:
This is the second case in PMPL: Brazil where a professional player was banned for using racist slurs during the broadcasts. Earlier, INTZ Goodzin was banned for a similar duration and under similar circumstances. Goodzin used racist terms while addressing a fellow player.
NTX plays for ‘Influence Rage’ in PMPL: Brazil and will need to step down from the active roster to respect the ban. The team will need to make necessary changes and bring in a substitute to fill this gap.
As two cases of similar nature were unearthed in such a small time, PUBG Mobile Esports has vowed to investigate and punish such actions and also make efforts to educate the players and teams on such sensitive topics in the future.
