The world-famous sportswear brand Puma has decided to try and experiment with a larger audience and has thus launched a new shoe focusing and catering to the gamers among its fanbase.
The shoe is priced at $160 according to Puma’s website, which is kind of on the expensive side. The product story on the official Puma website reads the following about the product, “Created with console gamers in mind, the gaming sock is the first edition Active Gaming Footwear. Designed for indoor and in-arena use, it delivers seamless comfort, support and grip so gamers can adapt to different active gaming modes and game their best.”
The real thing looks more like a sock with a rubber sole rather than a shoe, but we cannot be complaining here much, since it convincingly looks comfortable enough.
This sudden move of Puma trying to explore and expand on esports and gaming fashion might be an effort to gain some footing against competition from rival giants like Nike who themselves decided to launch esports jerseys earlier this year.
