What’s New in Operation Prep Phase?
Operation Prep Phase brings many exciting changes to Rainbow Six Siege. Let’s check out the main highlights:
Meet Rauora, the New Operator
A new attacker is joining Rainbow Six Siege! Her name is Rauora. She has a special gadget. It is called the D.O.M Panel Launcher. This launcher puts bulletproof panels on doorways. Rauora can use these panels. They block enemy sight and control movement. She will be very helpful for attack plans.
Reputation System is Now Live
The Reputation System Impact Activation is now fully live. This system was tested before in beta. Now, it will fully affect players. Your game standing will be reset. This is because the system is leaving beta. If you had a good standing last season (Respectable, Esteemed, or Exemplary), you will get a reward. The reward is a free Alpha Pack!
But, there are changes for players with low standings too. If you have Dishonorable or Disruptive standing, you will have limits. You can’t play in some playlists. You also can’t unlock some rewards. But, players with Esteemed or Exemplary standing can show off special card backgrounds. Good standings (Respectable or above) will also give bonus points. You can use these points. Get Boosters, Renown, or Alpha Packs with them.
Here’s how your Reputation standing affects you:
- DISHONORABLE:
- Can’t play Ranked, Standard, Siege Cup playlists.
- No Ranked rewards.
- -50% XP & Renown.
- DISRUPTIVE:
- Can’t play Siege Cup playlist.
- No Ranked rewards.
- -25% XP & Renown.
- RESPECTABLE:
- +1 Standing bonus points per match.
- ESTEEMED:
- +2 Standing bonus points per match.
- Esteemed card background.
- EXEMPLARY:
- +3 Standing bonus points per match.
- Exemplary card background.
Remember, Ranked rewards are locked. You need to reach at least a Respectable Standing to get them.
Better Matchmaking is Coming
The update also has Dynamic Matchmaking. This new system will make matchmaking better. It will change matchmaking based on server load. The goal is better matches. This is important when many players are online. This system should work well everywhere. It will work if a region has many or few players.
Other Important Updates
- DirectX 11 is Gone: For PC players, DirectX 11 is no longer supported. The game will only use DX12 now. This change to one executable is for better performance.
- Cosmetic Streaming is Here: To make the game smaller and offer more choices, Ubisoft is adding cosmetic streaming. This will download cosmetic items when you need them. It starts with charms. More cosmetics will be added later.
- Textures are Updated: Wooden parts in maps look better now. They have higher quality textures. This will make the game look more detailed.
- More Map Training: You can now train on more maps! Presidential Plane, Yacht, and Favela are now in Map Training.
- Play Versus AI as Rauora: You can fight AI as Rauora now. This is in Versus AI mode. It is a good way to try the new operator.
- Celebration Packs are New: To celebrate ten years of Siege, there are Celebration Packs. These packs have popular items from the last nine years. This includes limited-time items and weapon skins. You can unlock them with Renown in the Battle Pass.
