Rainbow Six Siege Ranking Explained: A Guide to Ranked 2.0

Rainbow Six Siege Ranking Explained

Rainbow Six Siege, one of the most popular tactical shooters, has a unique ranking system called Ranked 2.0. This system helps players measure their skills and compete against others of similar ability. If you’re new to the game or just want to understand how it works, this guide will explain everything in simple terms.

What is Ranked 2.0?

Ranked 2.0 is the updated ranking system introduced in 2023. It separates your visible rank (what you see) from your hidden MMR (Matchmaking Rating). Your visible rank starts at Copper V and goes up to Champions, the highest rank. Every season, which lasts about three months, your visible rank resets to Copper V, but your MMR stays the same. This means you’ll still play against players of similar skill, even if your visible rank is low.

How Does It Work?

Rainbow Six Siege Ranking 2.0 Explained

To play Ranked, you must reach level 50 in casual modes. Once you unlock Ranked, you’ll start at Copper V. Winning matches help you earn Rank Points (RP), which move you up through the ranks. Each rank, except Champions, has five levels (V to I). For example, Copper V is the lowest, and Copper I is the highest before moving to Bronze V.

Your MMR, which is hidden, determines how much RP you gain or lose after each match. If you perform well, you’ll earn more RP. If you lose, you’ll lose RP. The system tries to match you with players of similar MMR, so games are fair and competitive.

Ranks and Rewards

There are eight ranks in total: Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, and Champions. Each rank has its own rewards, like weapon skins, charms, and Alpha Packs. At the end of the season, you’ll receive rewards based on your highest achieved rank.

Tips to Rank Up

  • Communicate: Use voice chat to share information with your team.
  • Learn Maps: Knowing the map layout is crucial for both attack and defense.
  • Practice Operators: Each operator has unique abilities. Master a few to adapt to different situations.
  • Stay Positive: Take breaks after losses to avoid frustration.

Why Ranked 2.0 is Better

The new system is fairer because it matches players based on skill, not just wins and losses. It also encourages teamwork and rewards players for improving their skills.

Rainbow Six Siege’s Ranked 2.0 system is designed to make competitive play more enjoyable and balanced. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, understanding this system will help you climb the ranks and enjoy the game even more.
