Report: Astralis to remove k0nfig post his fist fight in Malta

According to a report by Jaxon, Astralis is planning to dismiss Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke from the CSGO squad.

Jaxon has claimed that k0nfig got into a fight after the ESL Pro League group stage in Malta two weeks ago. Now, it does appear like Astralis is planning to remove k0nfig from the squad post-incident.

Following the conclusion of the competition, it was revealed by Astralis that k0nfig had sustained a severe ankle fracture, which would prevent him from competing in the forthcoming Major RMR qualification.

It has been heard from a number of different sources that k0nfig was a participant in a dispute that escalated into a fist brawl following the ESL Pro League in Malta.

Astralis set eyes on device

The news of this comes after it was reported by Jaxon that Astralis was in the process of negotiating a deal for their former superstar player for AWP, Nicolai “device” Reedtz. Astralis have reportedly made an offer for the device, but sources claim that NIP is seeking almost one million euros for the sniper.

The received knowledge indicates that Asger “farlig” Jensen will be the player leaving the team, but the unexpected benching of k0nfig might throw a literal wrench into the works.

It is unknown whether this would mean that a double replacement is required or whether one of the AWP specialists, most likely farlig, would take up rifling as a new specialty. What seems obvious is that k0nfig’s time with Astralis may be up and a return may be barred.

k0nfig close to completing one year anniversary with Astralis

After it was claimed by TalkEsport that the player would not be re-signing with compLexity and was on the verge of signing with the Danish top club, k0nfig made the decision to join Astralis in November 2021.

After a rough period, Astralis hired k0nfig, Benjamin “blameF” Bremer, and Alexander “ave” Holdt as head coaches. Astralis entered a new era with the announcement of their signing of the trio, which demonstrated that they were not going down without a fight.

With k0nfig’s benching, Astralis would now be :

  • Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth
  • Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander
  • Benjamin “blameF” Bremer
  • Asger “farlig” Jensen
  • Martin “trace” Heldt (Head Coach)
