Reports are circulating all over the internet about Evil Geniuses lining up a move for picking up NRG’s CS:GO lineup ahead of ESL One New York.
The information came to light on Wednesday, following a report given by Jarek “DeKay” Lewis. According to him, “the talks between the parties are already advanced”.
NRG’s next tournament will be ESL One New York 2019, Sep 26-29. Even with such a close date, the deal can still be sealed today and the team plays as EG instead of NRG.
If the deal goes through, it will be Evil Geniuses’ first foray into CS:GO. They’ve competed in Counter-Strike: 1.6 and its biggest player was Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert, who played for EG for almost four years until 2012.
This move would make another traditional esports organization join the CSGO esports scene.
