Valorant patch 1.09 has just arrived a few days ago, and Riot has already started teasing upcoming content for their competitive shooter.
Due to patch 1.09 still being in its infancy, not much is known about what Riot had planned for the next big update. However, Riot has left a number of hints in their social media handles for their fans to “decode”.
The Act 2 of Valorant will end in the next few days, making way for the start of Act 3. Here’s what Riot Games have teased so far on the next big update.

The first major hint Riot gave was through a tweet on September 24th. Fans were asked, “Who’s on the bench?” with an attached video which no one could normally understand at first glance.
Fans were quick to figure out the meaning behind the tweet. The answer to the first question was revealed to be “Kench on the bench” which was written in Korean in the attached video, while the other phrases translated somewhere along the lines of “A look on the rise, River king
Discovered the place belonging to him.” Interestingly, “the rise” can point towards the map Ascent instead.
While investigating this “bench”, players found out a bench on the map ascent with a face of Kench on it. For the unaware, Tahm Kench is a champion in Riot’s MOBA title ‘League of Legends’.
This has led many to believe that the next act will bring in Kench as the new Valorant agent. Some are also arguing that Ascent might be undergoing changes in the upcoming update.
The next big hint came yesterday, and this time Riot threw a direct challenge at players to “decode this.” The tweet was attached with a similar cryptic picture.
The picture was soon translated through multiple languages by a fan.
This can hint to a winter-themed map being added to Valorant in Act 3, which is certainly exciting news as a snowy terrain can really spice things up in the shooter.
Earlier, Riot had revealed that the Act 3 will be introduced to Valorant on October 13th, so you’ll only have to wait a couple of days to find out what Riot has in store for us.
