The UK’s national esports organisation, British Esports has announced the British Esports Cup featuring Rocket League, a brand-new grassroots esports competition set to take place along the RLCS 2025 Major in Birmingham.
The British Esports Cup Ft. Rocket League, a first-of-its-kind independent community tournament that will take place later this year alongside RLCS 2025 Major Birmingham, aims to uncover hidden Rocket League talents from all over the UK and highlight the upcoming generation of esports talent.
“We are proud to announce the inaugural British Esports Cup and provide a new platform for aspiring esports athletes in the UK to gain notoriety,” said Chester King, President, of British Esports.
With online qualifications set for March 14–16, 2025 the best teams will battle for a position in the grand final and on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, the official RLCS Major Media Day in Birmingham, the top teams will compete in a Best of 7 match for a prize pool of £5,000.
With the backing of top government authorities, gamers are celebrating this initiative as this will unearth the hidden talents of Rocket League in the region. Having an event of this scale will also motivate the young players to consider pursing a career and will holistically improve the esports scene.
