S2G Esports wins PMGC 2022 Grand Finals

S2G Esports from Turkey have made history for their region by becoming the first team from their region to win a global PUBG Mobile event. They walked away with a whopping half a million dollars and pride back to their country and this is their story.

S2G was an underdog team coming from a less competitive region in PMGC 2022. They entered the group stage by winning the local PMPL Turkey and were placed in the Red group. They stomped their competition in three weeks of intense competition to move ahead into the grand finals.

The grand finale was hosted in Jakarta, Indonesia where the top sixteen teams from all corners of the world gathered to fight for over $2 million of prize pool. In a total of eighteen matches that were played, S2G were the most consistent team in the final stage.

S2G won the tournament with 190 points and led the scoreboard with a 32 point lead over DRS Gaming from Nepal. They only won a single match in the entire grand finale and this proves that being consistent in games also causes a great impact which is comparable to winning multiple matches in PUBG Mobile Esports.

The final prize distribution amongst the top three teams is as follows:

  • S2G Esports – $510,000
  • DRS Gaming – $292,000
  • Alpha7 Esports – $217,000

PMGC 2022 marks the end of 2022 esports season for PUBG Mobile. The teams will now go on a break before coming back for the spring tournaments after a few months.
