Senior citizens in Taiwan play League of Legends Tournament

When talking about esports players one would assume a bunch of millennials playing video games for a living or as a hobby but in a recent report, senior citizens in Taiwan formed League of Legends teams to take part in a tournament.

Teams were formed will elderly ages 60-70s which was sufficient to impress all the viewers who attended the tournament. The tournament was organized by a university to uplift elderly gamers and turned out to be a massive success which prompted the news to get traction.

The players have claimed that playing video games have been a good exercise for their minds and helped keep them occupied and in turn, has helped them achieve a healthier lifestyle.

“Even my grandma can play better than you.” is now a viable statement. “I have lived for some time now, and I should not let this beat me — and I overcame,” said one of the elderly female players.

The players also highlighted the esports for elderlies is often overlook and not taken seriously which is why it is important for everyone to understand the senoirs citizen might be another contender for esports.

“I figured out that it was good for the brain. And especially the use of hands, you need to have dexterity.” said Madam Chiang who according to her coach practices video games 5 hours a week and also added that this helped her overcome her ignorance towards technology.
