Through a recent announcement, Valorant star Jay ‘sinatraa’ Won confirmed that he’s all set to return to competitive play.
This comes as a delightful surprise for sinatraa who were looking forward to see him play in the big stages since his suspension from Sentinels and Riot Games that was issued in March 2021, amid investigations of sexual abuse allegations put forward by his former girlfriend Cleo ‘cle0h’ Hernandez.
The suspension by Riot Games lasted six months, and the company stated that they weren’t able to find “a definitive conclusion”.
Since the end of his suspension on September 10, the 22-year-old has been regularly streaming for Sentinels. However, a recent Tweet by sinatraa caught the world by surprise as he announced his intentions to return to competitive Valorant. He further mentioned that he’d be starting tryouts as early as this week.
“It’s been a year since I was forced to step back from competitive play. In that time, I have learned a lot about myself and grown as a person,” Won said in his Tweet. “I am now ready for a return to competitive play and will be starting tryouts this week.”
In a follow-up Tweet, sinatraa claimed that his first choice would be to return to Sentinels.
The potential return of sinatraa to Sentinels can help the organization regain their composure after a disappointing VCT Stage 1 Challengers finish in the 7th-8th place.
