Skyesports 2022 Roadmap: LAN events, and much more

Skyesports has announced their 2022 roadmap with a large number of tournaments planned throughout the year and some LAN competitions as well.

Skyesports, the Chennai-based esports and gaming venture, have announced their 2022 roadmap with exciting tournaments in the pipeline. All of the major IPs will be making a comeback this year as well with more grandeur. A total of seven events are planned throughout the year with some having LAN grand finals.

Indian esports industry is growing rapidly and Skyesports is one of the names on the forefront working to make esports sustainable in India. They have organized a large number of tournaments in the past few years and 2022 will be even bigger for esports professionals in the South Asian region.

Skyesports has grown out of India to host their first event in the South Asian region last year and they plan to expand to penetrate into a much larger market in this region in 2022. With an equal focus on mobile as well as PC gaming, Skyesports is planning to host several events for titles like VALORANT, BGMI, League of Legends, Free Fire, Hearthstone, FIFA, Real Cricket, Supercell titles, and more.

The highlighting factor for this year’s competition is the growing prize pool that has reached the 1 Crore mark and the comeback of classic LAN environment for the grand finals of Skyesports League 2022, Skyesports Championship 4.0 and Skyesports Tri-Series.

The roadmap for Skyesports tournaments is explained below:

February – March: Skyesports Grand Slam 2022 S1

The Skyesports Grand Slam 2022 S1 will be an open-for-all tournament for Valorant and BGMI with a combined prize pool of $40,000 split in half.

March – April: Skyesports Pro League

Skyesports Pro League will be focused on PC titles more as players can compete in Free Fire, VALORANT, League of Legends, and Dota 2. It will have a prize pool of $20,000 split into four titles.

April – May: Skyesports League 2022

The city-based premier league will be making a comeback this year as well. It will be the first LAN event with exciting factors like player auctions in play. The prize pool for this tournament is a massive ₹1.5 crores.

August – October: Skyesports Championship 4.0

One of the oldest IPs of Skyesports will be hosted during August as teams will be provided with a platform to compete in several games. The grand finals of this tournament will be in LAN environment as well and it will have a prize pool of ₹1 crore.

September – October: Real Cricket Championship 2022

India’s favorite cricket game will have a Rs. 50 lakhs esports event later this year for aspiring gamers to make it big.

October: Skyesports Grand Slam 2022 S2

The second season of Grand Slam will be hosted in winters with a similar kind of format.

November – December: Skyesports Mobile Open

The first edition of Skyesports Mobile Open concluded last year with an overwhelming response and this IP will be brought back this year as well to conclude the journey of Skyesports tournaments for mobile gaming. It will have a multitude of mobile titles and a combined prize pool of ₹1 Crore.

Apart from these events, the Skyesports Tri-Series will be hosted this year as well. The plans to host this event in Dubai last year were delayed and hence, it was postponed to 2022. This will be a LAN tournament for Valorant. An exciting announcement for Valorant fans will be announced after the end of VCT Stage 1.
