Skyesports hires Sashank Bhandaru and Shuchi Kulshreshtha to lead business development efforts

Skyesports, the premier esports tournament organizer in South Asia, has recently made key appointments to its business development team. Sashank Bhandaru has been named Head of Global Business Partnerships, while Shuchi Kulshreshtha has been appointed as Head of Business Development and Strategy. These seasoned professionals will be responsible for leading Skyesports’ efforts to become the top destination for endemic and non-endemic brands seeking to achieve their marketing objectives through esports.

With over 12 years of experience in the gaming industry, Sashank Bhandaru has worked with several high-profile brands, including SteelSeries, Razer, Cooler Master, and Xanova. He most recently served as the India Marketing Head for GIGABYTE, where he was instrumental in launching new products and raising brand awareness through esports.

In his new role at Skyesports, Bhandaru aims to establish India as a global esports hub and introduce unique and successful esports tournament IPs.

“I am extremely thrilled to embark on this new journey with Skyesports. I am looking forward to putting India on the global esports map by introducing unique and successful esports tournament IPs. I am eager to work with Skyesports’ incredible talent pool and versatile team to bring gaming and esports experience to everyone. As they say, the Sky’s the limit now!,” says Bhandaru.

Meanwhile, Shuchi Kulshreshtha brings more than five years of experience in sports business development, having served in key positions for the US Open and the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals. As Head of Business Development and Strategy at Skyesports, she aims to unlock the potential of non-endemic brands and help them engage with esports.

“Esports is the next big thing and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this revolution with the leading esports TO in India, Skyesports. With Skyesports coming up with the first proper franchised esports league in India, I look forward to working with the remarkable team to take the league to new heights and create a viable ecosystem for everyone,” says Kulshreshtha.

The appointments of Bhandaru and Kulshreshtha come at a critical juncture for Skyesports, as the company has recently announced the launch of its franchised esports league, Skyesports Masters, with a prize pool of Rs. 2 crore. The company is also focused on expanding its reach beyond the South Asian market. With their wealth of experience, Bhandaru and Kulshreshtha are expected to play a pivotal role in this expansion effort.

Overall, Skyesports is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for esports in India and beyond, and the addition of Bhandaru and Kulshreshtha to its business development team is a significant step towards achieving this goal.
