Renowned West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg has officially joined top American esports organization FaZe Clan. The chart-topping artist is the latest talent with little to no gaming background to join the organization.
A rapper joining the organization is of little surprise to the FaZe fans, given how their culture has been tied to this genre of music ever since they were founded back in 2010. From Logic to Lil Uzi, FaZe Clan was associated with several rappers who were a part of their content.
FaZe Clan announced that Snoop will become one of the company’s directors having become a publicly-traded company following their merger with BRPM. Snoop, himself, announced his membership with a clean and precise: “Joined FaZe Clan.” Tweet.
“The organic relationship between Faze and Snoop has been building for years now, so we are thrilled to officially welcome Faze Snoop to the family,” Faze Clan chief strategy officer Kai Henry said.
“As the original internet kid and first-generation gamer, Snoop has always understood the cultural connection between music, lifestyle and gaming. Today, Snoop is a prominent voice in the emerging Web3 community and we have exciting plans to create together in the metaverse, driving new engagement opportunities for both of our fanbases.”
Snopp Dogg joins the plethora of non-gaming talents that FaZe Clan boasts but he is certainly one of the most well-known faces in the world. With Snopp on board, FaZe Clan will be pushed to even a greater mainstream relevance that esports organizations are usually deprived of.
