As per some reports, most of Sony’s PlayStation Studios are on a hiring spree and are currently looking to fill the senior position of Head of Mobile to help with the development and porting of exclusive PlayStation IPs to the Mobile platform.
According to a job listing spotted by users at ResetEra, the role of Head of Mobile will “own and develop the mobile game’s strategy for PlayStation Studios and help build a foundation for future growth opportunities.” Head of Mobile will also be responsible to lead all aspects of game development from consoles and PCs to Mobile & Live Services with a focus on port PlayStation’s most popular franchises for mobile.
Although even if Sony hires a team in a short amount of time, the first mobile game might not come soon. The job listing specifically mentions that the Head of Mobile will work closely with the PlayStation Studios Leadership Team in order to create a roadmap for the next 3-5 years.
“Build and execute against a mobile 3-5yr business plan, outlining growth targets, resources needs & KPIs.
Partner with PlayStation Studios Leadership Team to develop mobile product roadmap for a 3-5-year time frame.
Build and scale multiple game teams and product leaders to deliver against future title plans.”
